Virtual Help

“Support the Green Belt Movement!” Cameron’s blog’s title goes. He continues by explaining what the movement is— “an organization of like minded environmentalists saving the environment.” In the next paragraph, he continues with what the movement has done for conservation around the world.

Cameron is an environmentalist. Even as a kid he was certain that he would be one. If his ultimate hero, Captain Planet, was not an indication, he didn’t know what was. It was choosing which movement he would support that he was not certain of.

Now he is 22, and he has finally settled on a movement he would like to support and gladly dedicate his life to. The problem is that he has no funds to set up a Non-Government Organization (NGO) to help this movement out.

Good thing his friend told him all about Coinjars…

“You should try it out ‘Ron! That’s how Shirley raised money for his local hospice!” his friend exclaimed.

“Really? How?” Cameron asked.

“All she did was become a member of the Coinjars application available in FaceBook. She posted her blog, explaining what the hospice was all about and why people should help out.”

“Wow! That sounds great! So all I do is add that application? Coinjars, isn’t it?”

“Yup,” his friend replies.

“But wait, tell me, explain to me why it is called Coinjars....”.

“Well, it’s because the whole concept revolves around that, and I’m telling you to take the name in its most literal sense,” certain he has Camron’s attention he continues, “A member of Facebook who is also a member of that application, has his very own coin jar. It’s a lot like having a bank account in Facebook. And it’s there for anybody who wants to donate to it,” his friend explains patiently.

“But how does one donate exactly?” Cameron asks, confused.

“It’s simple really. As a donor of iCoins— that’s what they call digital cash— all you do is load up your account via credit card, Paypal, or bank transfer. Once it’s loaded, you can then start donating— or receiving anywhere in the world from your Facebook.”

“Wow. That sounds simple enough. Uh, I kinda expected that it would be more complicated,” comments Cameron. “How about safety? How sure are we that the iCoins we’ve received are not going in the wrong hands?”

“No need to worry about that,” his friend assured. “The iCoins are kept by a licensed eMoney operation called a Treasury, the Mintflow Limited in the Isle of Man. It has a reputation for being very secure, so, again, no need to worry.”

“Amazing! Too bad I don’t have enough funds to pay for the extra fees… Coinjars could be so much help to the Green Belt Movement…” he says sadly.

“What are you talking about? Those extra fees you mentioned? They do not exist. Again, THEY. DO. NOT. EXIST. Welcome to the land of secure, quick, easy, but inexpensive money transfers and online donations, my friend! While the cash stays digital it is always free”

“You’ve got to be pulling my leg!” exclaims Cameron disbelievingly. “Quick, give me the link, I got to check it out myself!”

“Here, copy this down:

So that’s how he got to becoming a member of Coinjars, and that’s how he got to writing his blog. And as they say, the rest is history. Pretty soon, iCoins all over the world started coming in.

It was not long after Cameron got to establish his own NGO, raise funds for the Green Belt movement, and had the environment thanking him and Coinjars.
